Introduction
Cozy Cat Puzzle ("the game", "we", "us") is a puzzle game for Android and iOS, with a free preview you can play in your browser at cozycatpuzzle.com. This policy explains what information the game, the website and the services they rely on collect, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. You do not need an account to play, and we do not sell your personal information.
Information we collect
Kept on your device
Your saved level progress, stamps, hint balance, sound setting and tutorial state remain on your device (in the app, or in your browser's storage for the web preview). Analytics may report anonymous gameplay events such as a level number, completion, move count or hint use, but it does not upload your save file. Uninstalling the game or clearing its data (or your browser's site data) deletes the local copy.
The waitlist
If you join the waitlist we collect your email address, the device you told us you use (Android, iPhone/iPad or both) and your consent to receive launch updates.
Collected by services the mobile game uses
- Analytics (Google Analytics and Firebase Analytics): website visits and anonymous game events such as sessions, platform, level starts and results, move counts, hint use, ad completion and purchase outcomes, together with general device, app, browser and approximate-location information derived from your IP address. Analytics events do not include your name, email or save file.
- Ads (Google AdMob): your device's advertising ID, IP address, general device information (model, operating system, language) and how you interact with the ads shown.
- Purchases (Google Play and RevenueCat): a random, anonymous app user ID created by the game (not your name or email), your purchase history for this game (products, purchase tokens, dates, refunds), basic device and app information, and your country for local prices. We never see or store your card or payment details.
- Leaderboard (Google Play Games): if you sign in, your player ID, gamer name, avatar and total stamp count.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for or collect your name, contacts, photos, precise location or microphone, and we do not use a separate crash-reporting service. The web preview shows no ads and has no shop.
How information is used
- Your waitlist email and device are used only to tell you about the launch and early access on your device, and to send occasional news about Cozy Cat Puzzle. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Analytics information is used to understand website traffic, improve level difficulty and game features, measure retention, and diagnose where players stop progressing.
- Google uses ad information to serve, measure and, where you allow it, personalise ads, and to prevent fraud.
- Purchase information is used to confirm your purchases and restore them on your device.
- Leaderboard information is used to show your stamp count on the Play Games leaderboard. Whether other players can see you depends on your Play Games profile visibility.
Information on your device stays until you delete the game or its data. We keep your waitlist details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Google and RevenueCat keep the information described here for as long as their own policies say, and purchase records for as long as needed to honour your purchases and meet legal requirements.
Third-party services
- MailerLite stores the waitlist and sends its emails. MailerLite's privacy policy.
- Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Google AdMob, Google Play and Google Play Games for website measurement and in the mobile game. Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
- RevenueCat for purchases in the mobile game. RevenueCat's privacy policy.
- GitHub Pages hosts this website and may log visitors' IP addresses for security. GitHub's privacy statement.
Information sent to these services travels over encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we only use services with strong security practices.
Your choices
- Waitlist: use the unsubscribe link in any email, or email us to have your details deleted.
- Analytics and ads: in regions that require it (such as the EEA, the UK and some US states) the game asks for your consent before measurement or personalised ads begin. Change that choice at any time from Privacy Choices in the game's shop, or reset your advertising ID in your device's settings.
- Leaderboard: signing in is optional. Sign out of Play Games, hide your profile in the Play Games app, or manage your Play Games data from your Google Account.
- Purchase records: email us and we will ask RevenueCat to delete the records linked to your anonymous app user ID. Purchases you have already made stay valid with Google Play.
- Everything on your device: uninstall the game or clear its data.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal information. Contact us and we will help.
Children. Cozy Cat Puzzle is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. Ads are limited to content suitable for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; if you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes. If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
